Non-reflecting Boundary Conditions for Wave Propagation Problems
We consider two aspects of non-reflecting boundary conditions for wave propagation problems. First we evaluate a proposed Perfectly Matched Layer (PML) method for the simulation of advective acoustics. It is shown that the proposed PML becomes unstable for a certain combination of parameters. A stabilizing procedure is proposed and implemented. By numerical experiments the performance of the PM...
متن کاملNew optimality conditions for nonsmooth control problems
This work considers nonsmooth optimal control problems and provides two new sufficient conditions of optimality. The first condition involves the Lagrange multipliers while the second does not. We show that under the first new condition all processes satisfying the Pontryagin Maximum Principle (called MP-processes) are optimal. Conversely, we prove that optimal control problems in which every M...
متن کاملSufficient Optimality Conditions for Multivariable Control Problems
We study optimal control problems for partial differential equations (focusing on the multidimensional differential equation) with control functions in the Dirichlet boundary conditions under pointwise control (and we admit state – by assuming weak hypotheses) constraints.
متن کاملNecessary Optimality Conditions for Some Control Problems of Elliptic Equations with Venttsel Boundary Conditions
In this paper we derive a necessary optimality condition for a local optimal solution of some control problems. These optimal control problems are governed by a semi-linear Vettsel boundary value problem of a linear elliptic equation. The control is applied to the state equation via the boundary and a functional of the control together with the solution of the state equation under such a contro...
متن کاملNew optimality conditions for multiobjective fuzzy programming problems
In this paper we study fuzzy multiobjective optimization problems defined for $n$ variables. Based on a new $p$-dimensional fuzzy stationary-point definition, necessary efficiency conditions are obtained. And we prove that these conditions are also sufficient under new fuzzy generalized convexity notions. Furthermore, the results are obtained under general differentiability hypothesis.
